All Rains Intermediate students have the opportunity to try out for UIL academic teams in the fall. Students sign up, then try out for teams. Up to 4 students can be selected for each team. Students can only participate on one team, however, due to events competing at the same time during the UIL meet.
Coaches will contact students and parents about practice times and try-outs. Practices are tyically scheduled before or after school.
Rains Intermediate joins other schools in January for a UIL competition. Students compete for top honors and are awarded ribbons and medals at a cermony in February.
