The state of Texas requires that all students in grades 3-5 take the STAAR test for various subjects to gauge mastery of course content.
Due to test security, the campus will be closed to visitors on testing days. Students who are absent on the day of their test can make it up the remainder of that week. Free breakfast will be provided to all students who are testing.
Below are the testing dates for Rains Intermediate this spring. NOTE: All 5th grade students must pass the Reading and Math STAAR tests in order to be promoted to 6th grade, so the state offers three chances for fifth graders to pass these tests (March, May, and June).
3/28 5 Math, 4 Writing
3/29 5 Reading
5/8 3 Math, 4 Math, 5 Math (2nd administration)
5/9 3 Reading, 4 Reading, 5 Reading (2nd administration)
5/10 5 Science
6/20 5 Math (3rd administration)
